India's Chandrayaan-3 Mission: A Timeline to the Moon**

Chandrayaan-3, India's third lunar mission, was launched on July 14, 2023, from Sriharikota's Satish Dhawan Space Centre. The mission is scheduled to land on the lunar South Pole region on August 23, 2023.

A timetable of the Chandrayaan-3 mission is shown below:

* **July 14, 2023:** The Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft is launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre.

* **August 5, 2023:** The Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft enters lunar orbit.

* **August 23, 2023:** The Chandrayaan-3 lander and rover are scheduled to land on the lunar South Pole region.

* **September 7, 2023:** The Chandrayaan-3 mission is scheduled to end.

A follow-up mission to Chandrayaan-1 and Chandrayaan-2 is called Chandrayaan-3. India's initial lunar mission, Chandrayaan-1, was launched in 2008. The presence of water on the moon was one of many findings it made during its successful orbit of the moon. The second lunar mission launched by India was called Chandrayaan-2. It successfully orbited the moon and landed the Vikram lander on the moon's surface. However, communication with the lander was lost just 2.1 kilometers above the surface.

The Chandrayaan-3 mission represents a significant turning point in India's space programme. India will make its maiden attempt to land a spacecraft near the lunar South Pole.  The South Pole region is of particular interest to scientists because it is thought to contain large amounts of water ice. The Chandrayaan-3 mission will help scientists to better understand the history of water on the moon and its potential for future exploration.

The Chandrayaan-3 mission is also a major step forward for international cooperation in space exploration. The mission is a joint effort between the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Russian space agency Roscosmos. The lander and rover on the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft were built by ISRO, while the propulsion module was built by Roscosmos.

The Chandrayaan-3 mission is a historic achievement for India and a major step forward for international cooperation in space exploration. The mission is expected to make significant discoveries about the moon and its potential for future exploration.
